The Community

There are over 40,000 men and boys registered with sports in the ACT and the other towns that play in our competitions like Queanbeyan, Bungendore, Yass, Cooma and Jindabyne. That's a massive community and includes anyone involved in sport ranging from those competing on the world stage to those having a bit of fun with mates on a weeknight to those turning out for their school.
If each one of those men and boys, for argument’s sake, has four or five important women in his life, that’s pretty much half the population of Canberra that can potentially be positively affected by this initiative.
This Challenge is about us, the 40-odd thousand men and boys involved in sport in the ACT thinking of creative ideas and taking action to show the women involved in our sports and in our everyday lives that we know how to treat them with respect. It’s about using the power of sport to unite a huge section of the community behind a positive cause. Not just on special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries or Valentines Day, and not because we feel like we have to, but because we want to.
